Photo Tip Of the Day: Depth Of Field Calculator (DOF)

So you have a nice new lens and it doesn't have those cool-old Depth Of Field (DOF) markings on it. What do you do. You want to hyper-focus that new baby so you can beat your AF speed at sports, or get max DOF in that studio-still-life your shooting, or even more complicated that historic building your only going to be in once over seas.

Or say you have Internet access on your laptop, or a cool iPhone etc. You can go the easy way HERE. I have used dofmaster.com site many times, and even had their app on my old Palm Pilot. Its a blast to use and helpful when I work with remoting cameras and hyper-focusing them.


Now I currently use the "ExpoAperture2 Depth-of-Field Guide" its nice compact and can be carried everywhere. True they arn't free, but they are very useful and for >$40 they aren't too costly.
