DigiLabs at PMA 2010

End to End automated workflow presented at Duplo booth at PMA 2010: Create, Order, Impose, Print and Finish

Four photo industry leaders: Duplo, Noritsu, DigiLabs and Ultimate Technographics will be presenting an end-to-end automated workflow for creating, ordering, imposing, printing and finishing photo products at PMA 2010 in Anaheim this week.

Anaheim, California, February 18, 2010 (PMA 2010, booth #3185): Four photo industry leaders: Duplo, Noritsu, DigiLabs and Ultimate Technographics will be presenting an end-to-end automated workflow for creating, ordering, imposing, printing and finishing photo products (e.g., books, cards, calendars, prints, etc.).

It all starts with DigiLabs ( photo creativity software. End-users can create and order photo products using DigiLabs software either in-store or at home. DigiLabs software creates a print-ready PDF (or JPEG) file and does not require server software so that the print-ready file is delivered directly to the printer. The integration between DigiLabs and Duplo's Bar Code Generator (powered by Ultimate's Impostrip) imposition software is automated so that upon delivery of the order, the Bar code generator automatically imposes the job including page layout, numeration and bar coding. From there, the file moves to the Noritsu printer (model D703) and upon printing, is taken to Duplo's DC-645 Integrated Folding System and UAS-400 Photo Album System for slitting, cutting, creasing, folding, and binding.

This unique and powerful integrated workflow will be demonstrated at the Duplo's booth #3185. And just across (booth #3184) you are invited see an in-depth presentation of DigiLabs' new photo software.

"We are excited to deliver an integrated photo workflow solution with our partners thereby delivering to photo products merchandisers superior user/ordering experience, speed, quality and efficiency" says Andrew Friedland, VP of Sales at DigiLabs.

Si Nguyen, Director of Marketing at Duplo USA Corporation comments, "Workflow automation begins with prepress in a print production environment. At the Duplo stand, visitors will be shown a wide variety of photo applications driven by the Duplo Barcode Generator, Duplo's first prepress production tool that integrates pre-press, press and post-press productions. By automating their workflow, users will benefit from the reduction of touch points, setups, operator training, order processing, and much more."

"Powered by Impostrip, this proof of concept demonstration at PMA is like a "business-in-a-box". Merchandisers will be able to see live how our highly integrated technologies can deliver a highly profitable business that requires almost no operators nor specialized personnel. It is the ultimate magic!" says Ray Duval, Director of Sales at Ultimate.

FinePix HS10, F80EXR and Z700EXR Digital Cameras Recognized

Valhalla, N.Y., February 20, 2010 – Fujifilm North America Corporation today announced that the Digital Imaging Marketing Association (DIMA) has named three Fujifilm FinePix digital cameras DIMA 2010 Innovative Digital Product Award winners. Today’s announcement was made at the Photo Marketing Association (PMA) trade show and convention in Anaheim, California.

Of the six awards given to digital cameras, three were given to Fujifilm for the Fujifilm FinePix HS10, the FinePix F80EXR and the FinePix Z700EXR. The DIMA Innovative Digital Product Award recognizes products or services that are technologically innovative or first of their kind.

“We are highly honored to receive this kind of acknowledgement from DIMA for our technical innovation,” said Go Miyazaki, division president, Electronic Imaging Division, Fujifilm North America Corporation. “For our customers, we know that every picture matters, and that’s why we continue to invest in developing new technologies that will meet the various expectations of our customers and help to broaden their photographic experiences.”

The latest addition to Fujifilm’s award-winning range of big zoom ‘bridge’ cameras, the FinePix HS10 digital camera offers an unprecedented feature set that combines a powerful Fujinon 30x (24-720mm equivalent) manual optical zoom lens with sophisticated photographic controls, advanced functionality and D-SLR-like handling in a single compact, affordable camera. The HS10 is built for speed, with a BSI-CMOS sensor, and a body design carefully crafted to make accessing controls fast and simple, so you won’t miss a shot. In addition to the Fujinon 30x Wide-Telephoto zoom lens, Triple Image Stabilization and the four new unique shooting modes, the FinePix HS10 also features a full HD movie mode (1080p) with stereo sound, combined RAW/JPEG shooting, and an Electronic Viewfinder that automatically switches the picture between the EVF and the LCD screen when the eye is withdrawn. The FinePix HS10 will be available in April 2010 at a retail price of $499.95.

The Fujifilm FinePix F80EXR digital camera is a sleek, compact digital camera that combines intuitive use with Fujifilm’s award winning EXR technology and the most advanced features available in a point-and-shoot digital camera. Improving on that award winning technology for 2010, this new EXR sensor provides the F80EXR with an EXR AUTO feature with a selectable sensor mode, highly acclaimed for its low light shooting abilities. Among its many features, the FinePix F80EXR has an impressive Fujinon 10x (27mm-270mm equivalent) Wide-Angle optical zoom lens, a 12-MegaPixel Super CCD EXR sensor, a large, 3.0” High-Contrast LCD, HD Movie Capture and Face Recognition that allows users to register up to eight (8) faces, along with names, birthdays and categories. And the F80EXR will prioritize focus and exposure, using AF and AE settings, right on the faces of those special people. Users can also use Image Search to view images of a registered person. In addition, this camera has a Pet Detection feature that automatically detects either a dog’s or a cat’s face, optimizes AF and AE, and can even activate the Auto Shutter feature when the pet faces the camera, reducing missed shots. Encased in a beautifully sculpted metal shell with a double coated lacquer finish and measuring only 22.9 mm thin*, the FinePix F80EXR will be available in April 2010 at a retail price of $299.95.

The Fujifilm FinePix Z700EXR digital camera is the first FinePix model with a touch screen and an innovative intuitive GUI for shooting, sharing and organizing photos.
