LAUREN WENDLE NAMED NEW VP OF EXPANDED NIELSEN PHOTO GROUP

TARGETS NEW DIRECTIONS FOR INDUSTRY EXPANSION AS CORE INITIATIVE

Photo Group Takes Giant Step Toward Trade Show Expansion
With Announcement of First PDN Outdoor Photo Expo in August

New York, NY -- February 18, 2011 -- The Nielsen Company, the global leader in media information and trade shows and expositions, has named Lauren Wendle the Vice President of its newly expanded Nielsen Photo Group.  The announcement follows Nielsen's recent acquisition of Rangefinder Inc., publisher of Rangefinder and AfterCapture magazines, and owner of the Wedding and Portrait Photography International (WPPI) trade show and convention.

As part of its continued initiative to expand its core trade show portfolio and provide photographers, enthusiasts, and manufacturers with new growth opportunities, Nielsen has announced the first annual PDN Outdoor Photo Expo to be held August 4-5 in Salt Lake City, Utah.  PDN Outdoor Photo Expo is the first trade show event dedicated to the outdoor photography market, including travel, wildlife and adventure and will coincide with the Outdoor Retailer show, bringing additional opportunities and benefits to the photo community.  A series of special events, interactive activities, and educational workshops are scheduled on August 3.  For more information, please visit pdnonline.com.

Nielsen's Photo Group has long been the leading source of trade shows, periodicals, journals, and online initiatives for the photography and visual communications industries.  The recent purchase of Rangefinder Inc. and announcement of the launch of the PDN Outdoor Photo Expo will strengthen their leadership in the market.

As vice president, Lauren Wendle will oversee and manage all properties under the Nielsen Photo Group and set a new direction for industry expansion through its existing titles and new business opportunities worldwide.  The key to Nielsen's corporate vision and expansion, according to Ms. Wendle, is having a team of professionals who share the same vision and bring a unique level of industry knowledge and know-how.

"The Nielsen Company continues its commitment to, and investment in, photography by taking the very best from the companies it owns to create new opportunities for growth and expansion," explains Lauren Wendle, whose role as VP, Nielsen Photo Group, became effective January 1.  "We have an amazing team of knowledgeable and dedicated professionals within the Photo Group who share a passion for photography, the industry, and a common vision for the future.  The combination of team, talent, and corporate support is certainly an ideal recipe for success," Ms. Wendle added.

The new Nielsen Photo Group will see Jeff McQuilkin continue to run PhotoPlus Expo as Nielsen's Show Director, and look for opportunities to launch new trade shows in the U.S.  George Varanakis will continue as Publisher of Rangefinder and AfterCapture as well as direct all aspects of WPPI, and look for ways to expand the popular WPPI Road Show in the U.S. and abroad.  Mark Brown will oversee all sales efforts on behalf of Photo District News,
PDNonline, and PDNedu, and Holly Stuart Hughes will maintain her critical role as Editor-in-Chief of Photo District News.  Bill Hurter, longtime industry expert and respected journalist, will continue as Editor of Rangefinder and AfterCapture magazines.
