Casio-Japan Earthquake Report


Regarding the Impact of the Pacific Coast of Tohoku Earthquake on the Casio Group’s Operations.
TOKYO, March 14, 2011 — Casio Computer Co., Ltd. would like to provide brief details on the impact of the Pacific Coast of Tohoku Earthquake on the Casio Group’s operations.
.1. Status Regarding Injury and Damage

• Personal injury

Thankfully, there were no major injuries among the Group’s personnel working throughout the Tohoku region. The company continues to take all necessary steps to confirm the safety of its employees and their families.

• Property damage

(1) Manufacturing activities
The Group is currently working to ascertain the current condition of its facilities while confirming safety as well as the status of materials and infrastructure in efforts to recommence operations. Placing the utmost emphasis on safety, we plan to recommence operations as and when inspections and confirmation have been completed.


Cancellation of Color Imaging Exhibition 2010


- TOKYO, Japan, March 14, 2011 -
Epson today announced it had cancelled the Color Imaging Exhibition 2010 as a result of the earthquake that struck the Tohoku area of Japan on March 11. The event was scheduled to be held in Tokyo from March 19 to 21.
We apologize to everyone planning to visit the exhibition, and ask for your understanding.

Damage Report for Canon Inc. Operations and Canon Companies following Major Earthquake in Japan

The following is a summary overview of damage reported at Canon Inc. operating sites and Canon Group companies in Japan as of 15:00 JST on Sunday, March 13, 2011.
 The Company continues working to ascertain damages and determine when operations can resume.
 With regard to Canon offices, plants and Canon Group companies in Japan, there have been reports from several sites of power outages, damage to buildings and stoppages in production equipment.
 Below is an overview highlighting damage, production outlooks, etc., for sites in northern Honshu (the area hardest hit by the earthquake).
 The earthquake had the greatest impact on the following three Canon Inc. operation sites and five Canon Group companies
 Damage was significant at Canon Inc.’s Utsunomiya Office and Fukushima Canon Inc.

Epson Provides Support for Tohoku Earthquake Relief Efforts


TOKYO, Japan, March 14, 2011 -
Epson wishes to express its deepest condolences to those affected by the earthquake that struck the Tohoku area of Japan on March 11.
The company today announced it would donate 100 million yen to provide assistance to the victims of the earthquake, and stated its hopes for a recovery at the earliest possible stage.

Sony Group Operations Affected by Pacific Coast of Tohoku Earthquake, Tsunami and Related Power Outages


(Tokyo, March 14, 2011) - Operations at several Sony Corporation and Sony Group sites and facilities have been affected by the Pacific Coast of Tohoku Earthquake and tsunami, and Sony is monitoring the status of each of these sites on an on-going basis, while also considering the most effective recovery measures. Sony also has responded to reports of widespread power outages by voluntarily suspending operations at several sites. No significant injuries have been reported to employees working at any of these sites when the earthquake or tsunami occurred.
The company is currently evaluating the full impact of the earthquake, tsunami and related power outages on Sony's businesses and consolidated financial results.

As of 11:00 am, March 14 (JST), manufacturing operations have been suspended at the following affected production sites:

Casio Donates to Relief Efforts for Pacific Coast of Tohoku Earthquake.


TOKYO, March 14, 2011 - Casio Computer Co., Ltd. expresses its sincere condolences to the people of the Tohoku area of Japan in the wake of a major earthquake that struck in the area March 11, 2011.
Casio will donate 10,000,000 yen to relief efforts with the hope of helping those affected by the earthquake and contributing to the rapid reconstruction of devastated areas. Additionally, a relief fund will collect donations from employees, and their contributions will be matched by the company through a matching gifts program.
Donation amounts: 10,000,000 yen and contributions by a matching gifts program
Donation recipient: Japan Platform, a specified nonprofit organization
Everyone at Casio sincerely hopes for the rapid recovery of the areas struck by the earthquake

Sandisk Issues Statement On Recent Earthquake In Japan

Milpitas, CA, March 11, 2011 - SanDisk Corporation (NASDAQ:SNDK), the global leader in flash memory cards, issued the following statement on the recent earthquake that occurred on Thursday night, Pacific Time.
The epicenter of the powerful earthquake was approximately 500 miles from Yokkaichi, Mie Prefecture, Japan, the location of the two Toshiba-SanDisk joint-venture semiconductor manufacturing plants, Fab 3 and Fab 4. Both fabs were down for a short period of time due to the earthquake and were back up and operational as of Friday morning, Pacific Time. There were no injuries to SanDisk employees based in Japan. SanDisk's current assessment is that there has been minimal immediate impact on wafer output due to the earthquake. SanDisk continues to assess the situation for any potential future impact that may arise from issues related to Japanese infrastructure and the supply chain.
