A hands-free carrying solution for the photographer on the go

Want to carry your camera (or binoculars) on your next hiking or biking adventure but worrying about camera swing and need your hands for bike handles or trekking poles? The Keyhole Harness is a hands-free carry system consisting of a harness, a plate that can attach to the harness or something else, and knob to screw into the camera's tripod mount. It can be used alone with the complete harness system or the "keyhole" plate and it's attaching straps can detached from the harness and use on your own backpack (if it has the one-inch straps running down the shoulder straps). OrangeMonkie's Foldio: A Nifty Little Pre-Lit Product Studio

The Foldio folding light studio for small product photography is a convenient way to create high quality product shots with a speedy set up and limited space. 

The OrangeMonkie booth at Photo Plus Expo 2017 had quite a crowd around it trying out the various sizes of their Foldio product photography studios.  These came pre-lit with adjustable LED light strips and with four background color options: White, black, grey and greenscreen.  Several were set up with items inside for attendees to test.  Amazingly well-lit product images could be achieved even with cell phone camera, enabling anyone to take quality product shots with the simpliest of equipment.  You can find OrangeMonkie at

At PhotoPlus Expo we got an overview about the GLYPH Atom and AtomRaid SSD ultra portable and rugged Solid State storage. These are most impressive and if you're a photographer on the go and always worried about 2 things, storage and the security of said storage from drops etc than you need to seriously consider Glyph Atom drives. Smaller than a cellphone, practically drop-proof and FAST, I mean FAST these were able to stream 4k and pan through video editing without missing a frame.

Reverse mount your Sony E-mount lenses for amazing macro effects 

New NEX-RETRO from NOVOFLEX Allows users with Sony E-Mount cameras (e.g. Sony Alpha 7/Alpha 9 series, Alpha 6000 series, etc.) to reverse mount their existing lenses to achieve closer focus. NEX-RETRO transfers all electronic functions such as aperture control, EXIF data and autofocus, from the reversed lens to the camera body as if it were mounted directly.

DxO Acquires Nik Collection Assets From Google

New Full-frame Sony α7R III

With 42.4MP, 10fps and fast AF  and a price point of $3200 this puts a direct challenge on the New Nikon D850 and the latest Canon 5d for the pro shooter/video market below the top of the line "pro" bodies. 
Between this, the new lenses just announced and the a9 Sony has firmly planted itself as one of the top 3 camera companies. Amazing to remember their take over of Minolta years ago would lead to this. Hopefully we will get a hands on with this at PPE tomorrow!

New York – October 19, 2017NYVR Expo, the first large-scale Virtual Reality/Augmented Reality (VR/AR) conference in New York City, will conduct more than 45 seminars over the three day conference from October 26-28 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center. Presented by many of the world’s leading technology companies including Microsoft, HTC Vive, Facebook, and Google, among others, the seminars will share the latest in VR/AR technology and offer insight about how to incorporate these technologies into new business opportunities. In addition, members of the NYU and Columbia University Media Labs will share their thoughts and insight on the future of Virtual Reality / Augmented Reality, the law firm of McCarter & English will host a panel of venture capitalists to discuss the funding environment and The Glimpse Group, a VR/AR company, will explain the challenges that startups face in the industry and tips for success.
