New York – December 27, 2017 – Registration is now open for the 2018 Wedding and Portrait Photography International (WPPI) Conference and Expo at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Resort in Las Vegas from February 25-28.
As the largest wedding and portrait photography show in North America,
WPPI has become a venerable playground for photographers who want to
sharpen their business and creative skills, participate in numerous
experiential events, test the latest imaging technologies, and hobnob
with the world’s most renowned image-makers and educators in this space
during organized community events and activities.
Participating in this year’s WPPI Conference + Expo has never been more cost effective. All PHOTO+ members receive a free Full Platform Pass
to WPPI. The pass includes access to all platform classes, the 3-day
Expo, Launch Pad and the Live Print, Album, and Filmmaking Judging
event. This translates to an immediate savings of $75 on the purchase of a Full Platform Pass ($275) along with numerous other membership benefits. PHOTO+ members also receive a $70 discount on PLUS classes and a $50 discount on Master classes as well as all Photo Walks. Non-members can sign up for PHOTO+ membership ($199.99) during the WPPI registration process.

Education at WPPI
At
its core, WPPI creates a unique and interactive learning experience for
attendees by addressing the latest trends in wedding/portrait
photography with programming focused on Newborn Photography, Photo Booths, Filmmaking, School/Sports Photography, and several classes focused on the business of photography. In addition to more than 40 Platform Classes, WPPI offers more intense learning environments through its PLUS and Master Classes and Photo Walks.
WPPI
also offers a unique opportunity for wedding and portrait photographers
to come together and thrive on the creative energy and rejuvenation
that comes from spending time with their peers and the willingness to
share ideas and experiences with a new generation of community members.
PLUS Classes
are one-day, intimate and intensive learning experiences. Limited to
just 25 participants per class, you’ll experience classroom learning
through a 2-3 hour presentation by a world-class photography instructor
followed by hands-on training through an afternoon of shooting on
location.
Master Classes
are focused two-hour, hands-on sessions limited to 50 participants that
provide a detailed learning experience. Master Class tracks cover a
wide variety of vital photography and filmmaking topics.
Photo Walks
are exclusive 90-minute hands-on sessions limited to 25 people each
that focus on teaching participants to sharpen their observation and
composition skills while shooting alongside an industry leader. Each Photo
Walk will demonstrate the leader’s unique skill set, including
everything from off-camera lighting, posing, gear and lens selection,
and the latest techniques for creating and capturing every decisive
moment.
Special Events
16x20 Print, Album and Filmmaking Honors of Excellence Competition Judging
This
two-day adjudication of incredible photography and film is a WPPI
hallmark. Over 3,000 entries are judged in 8 rooms by over 40 judges.
Full Platform Pass holders will have the opportunity to hear
constructive critiques and feedback from judges and learn what it takes
to create award-winning images.
Launch Pad
This
is a chance for attendees to see the latest in imaging technology and
accessories before they hit the Expo floor. Launch Pad includes numerous
exhibitors eager to share their latest products and have one-on-one
conversations with attendees. For those who have a schedule filled with
seminars and Photo Walks, Launch Pad is a great way to see new tech and gear before classes begin.
Honors of Excellence Awards Ceremony
The
WPPI Honors of Excellence Awards ceremony is the most prestigious
events for wedding and portrait photographers. The event celebrates all
the winners from the 16×20 Print, Album and Filmmaking Competition as
well as WPPI’s members-only first and second half competition
participants.
WPPI Fun Run
Join
the movement during the annual WPPI Fun Run. Participants will not only
be doing their body good but will have a chance to see the Vegas Strip
as early morning sunlight starts a new day.
WPPI After Hours
Join
the WPPI community as they hit nightclubs along the strip and
participate in other evening activities each night throughout the
Conference.
WPPI Expo
Every
year, the biggest and best manufacturers, solution providers, experts,
and retailers in the world for photography and video display and
demonstrate the latest technology at WPPI’s three-day expo. This is the
largest collection of industry manufacturers and suppliers for
professional, amateur, and emerging wedding and portrait photographers
anywhere in North America.

the expo, attendees can touch, test, and compare the latest products,
