Canon no show at PMA 2010

Big news coming out today from dpreview.com that Canon will not be at PMA this upcoming year. Canon has traditional been one of the largest, if not the largest booth at the show for the past 5 years that I have been attending and reporting.
They will be opting instead to show ONLY at CES (Consumer Electronics Show) in January. In a statement by the company "...the decision has been made by Canon USA to only participate in 2010 trade shows and events that have the broadest reach..."
This in itself is probably the largest blow to PMA and the photo specific industry that has come about in the past 10 years. For years speculation of "how long" PMA will survive has been the undertone of the press room at the event ever since companies started showing and announcing at CES.
P3N&R will hopefully be attending CES this upcoming year as a partnership with Maryland Investor Mag. has formed to cover the high-end electronics, and now apparently will be our only chance to talk to Canon about products until PhotoPlus next year.
